Toddler Teacher (2-Year-Old Classroom)
Job Overview
APK! Academy Eldridge is seeking a reliable, structured, and nurturing teacher for our 2-year-old classroom.
This role requires someone who can balance being gentle and caring while maintaining clear structure and expectations. The ideal candidate has experience with redirecting behavior, supporting early independence, and guiding children through important developmental stages such as potty training, communication, and social skills.
We are an academy-style environment, and we are looking for someone who can align with a structured, purposeful approach to early learning.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily classroom routines for a 2-year-old group
- Provide consistent behavior redirection and guidance in a calm, firm, and supportive manner
- Support developmental milestones including:
- Potty training
- Language development
- Social and emotional skills
- Maintain a structured classroom environment with clear expectations
- Implement lesson plans and age-appropriate activities
- Supervise children to ensure safety at all times
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding daily activities and progress
- Work collaboratively with another teacher/float and delegate tasks as needed
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and licensing standards within the classroom
- Support transitions throughout the day (meals, nap, play, etc.)
Qualifications
- Experience working with toddlers (2-year-olds preferred)
- Strong ability to redirect behavior in a calm, consistent, and firm manner
- Understanding of toddler development and age-appropriate expectations
- Experience or willingness to support potty training
- Ability to maintain structure while being patient and nurturing
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to work well with others
- Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced classroom environment
- Reliable, professional, and consistent in attendance
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must meet state childcare requirements

This role requires a balance of patience, structure, and consistency. We are looking for someone who can guide children with both care and clear expectations
Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
