Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Product & Purchasing Specialist to join our team and drive our procurement and supply chain operations forward. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end purchasing process, sourcing quality materials, and ensuring seamless inventory management to support production and sales. Your expertise in cycle counts and supply chain management will be vital in optimizing procurement strategies and maintaining strong supplier relationships. Duties
- Provide exceptional support to our outside sales team through responsive and thorough communications regarding product availability, landed costs, applications, and alternatives.
- Manage procurement activities using Quickbooks, Google Shared Docs, and Excel.
- Source suppliers, evaluate & negotiate prices, and establish favorable terms to maximize value and reduce costs
- Coordinate with production planning and merchandising teams to align purchasing schedules with manufacturing needs and market demand
- Oversee inventory control processes, including stock levels, replenishment cycles, and logistics coordination to prevent shortages or excesses
- Conduct market research to identify new sourcing opportunities, monitor pricing trends, and optimize supply chain strategies
- Collaborate with logistics providers to ensure efficient transportation, delivery schedules, and compliance with contractual obligations
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier performance data, and contract documentation for audit readiness and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles including inventory management, material planning, logistics, and production planning
- Excellent analytical & negotiation skills with the ability to establish mutually beneficial supplier agreements
- Ability to analyze pricing data and implement cost-saving initiatives
- Experience with inventory control techniques and tools for optimizing stock levels across multiple locations
- Strong communication skills to coordinate cross-functional teams and external suppliers effectively
