Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese-inspired dishes with precision and creativity
- Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness in the kitchen
- Select fresh ingredients and ensure proper storage to uphold quality standards
- Collaborate with team members to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings
- Manage portion control and presentation to ensure consistency across all dishes
- Assist in training junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and safety procedures
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management promptly
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar culinary role specializing in Japanese cuisine
- Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and ingredient handling
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation practices
- Creativity in food presentation and a passion for culinary arts
- Experience working with fresh seafood and handling specialty ingredients
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
