REQUIREMENTS FOR DECK AMBASSADOR
The Deck Ambassador, also known as a customer support specialist, works poolside at our swim school. You will be working on a pool deck. This position plays a critical role in providing an excellent customer experience. This position is out of the water, and you do not need to know how to swim to be considered.
- You need to be able to work on your feet, greeting and interacting with our families throughout your shift (generally 4-5 hours)
- You've got to love working with children and seeing them progress
- You need to be upbeat and ready to enjoy having fun at work. Having fun is mandatory!
- We have flexible schedules and four locations where we teach.
- Weekday shifts start between 2:00pm - 3:00pm and go to the early/mid-evening (7:30pm - 8:30pm).
- Weekend morning shifts start at between 8:00am and 9:00am, and end between 1:30pm and 2:30pm
- This position is hiring for the BSSCMD location at Bethesda although you will be able to work at any of our 5 locations listed above. You need to be able to reliably commute to the Onelife Fitness in Bethesda MD. The days/hours for the Bethesda position are Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:30p-8:30p and Saturdays & Sundays from 9:30a-2:30p. You must be able to work at least 2 of those shifts, one weekend shift is required.
TYPICAL DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Setting up and breaking down the pool deck area before and after each shift. You will typically arrive around 45 minutes before classes start and leave about 30 minutes after they finish
- Checking water chemistry and temperature before swim lessons (all training is provided in-house)
- Welcoming students and parents/guardians to the pool deck area
- Taking attendance for all classes on the iPad provided to employees
- Making sure that classes begin and end on time and that all students are seated in the proper class
- Answering customers' questions about their account, their child’s progress, or the program
- Assist swim instructors and managers when needed during swim lessons
- Post media content and monitor social media platforms
