Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Vascular Ultrasound Technician to join our specialized vein clinic. In this role, you will focus heavily on advanced venous diagnostics, evaluating patients for chronic venous insufficiency, varicose veins, and deep vein thrombosis (DVT). You will work hand-in-hand with our vein specialists to perform diagnostic scans, map vessels for minimally invasive treatments, and provide ultrasound-guided assistance during procedures. The ideal candidate is technically precise in venous anatomy, dedicated to patient care, and holds an active RVT or RVS credential.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality venous insufficiency studies, deep/superficial venous duplex scans, and upper/lower extremity venous mapping.
- Assist vein specialists during minimally invasive vein treatments (such as endovenous laser ablation, radiofrequency ablation, and sclerotherapy) by providing real-time ultrasound guidance.
- Accurately identify and document venous reflux, thrombosis, and abnormal vascular anatomy to aid in the creation of patient treatment plans.
- Prepare patients for exams and treatments, clearly explain the procedures, and maintain a comforting environment.
- Generate detailed preliminary technical findings, measurements, and vein maps for the treating physician using PACS system.
- Maintain a clean, sterile environment for ultrasound-guided procedures and properly sanitize equipment between patients.
Requirements & Experience
- Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography or vascular technology program.
- Active registration as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through ARDMS, or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) through CCI.
- Minimum of 1 year of dedicated experience in a vein clinic setting is highly preferred, but we will train a vascular sonographer with strong foundational venous mapping skills.
- Exceptional skill in identifying venous reflux and mapping superficial veins (GSV, SSV, accessory veins); proficiency with PACS.
- Outstanding patient rapport, strong teamwork skills for procedure rooms, and a high level of attention to detail.
Pay: $45.00 - $85.00 per hour
