Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in their own residences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in home health, senior care, and disability support, with a commitment to enhancing clients' quality of life through personalized assistance. The In Home Caregiver will be responsible for assisting with daily activities, monitoring health conditions, and ensuring clients' comfort and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support for clients with diverse needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's, or developmental disabilities.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and medication reminders.
- Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions to report changes promptly to healthcare professionals.
- Support patients with mobility using proper patient transfer methods and equipment such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being, especially for clients with neurodevelopmental or cognitive disorders.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities, observations, and communication with healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care.
- Facilitate transportation for medical appointments or community outings while ensuring client safety at all times. Must have car insurance
- Prior experience working in home care, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or hospice care environments is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated expertise in caring for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorder, or other developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of infection control practices including first aid .
- Experience working with patients requiring complex support such as the use of Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques.
- Background in geriatrics or long-term care settings that emphasize patient safety and personalized caregiving strategies.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
