Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and licensed Connecticut HVAC S-1 Contractor and S-2 Journeyperson to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Lead HVAC system installations, ensuring compliance with local codes and safety standards
- Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of HVAC/R equipment including boilers, refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, and mechanical systems
- Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and building automation system diagrams to diagnose issues accurately
- Perform electrical diagnostics and repairs on HVAC control wiring and electrical systems using specialized tools such as ohmmeters
- Repair or replace components such as compressors, fans, valves, thermostats, and electrical panels to restore optimal system performance
- Collaborate with clients to provide expert advice on system upgrades or modifications aligned with HVAC design principles
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports to ensure compliance and quality standards are met
Requirements
- Valid Connecticut S-1 Contractor license or equivalent certification with proven experience as a licensed HVAC contractor
- Valid Connecticut S-2 Journeyperson license or equivalent with extensive hands-on experience in the field
- Construction experience with a strong understanding of mechanical systems repair and installation processes
- Service technician experience working on HVAC/R systems including refrigeration and ammonia refrigeration units
- Proficiency reading schematics, technical manuals, building automation systems (BAS), electrical wiring diagrams, and plumbing layouts
- Mechanical knowledge covering HVAC system repair, maintenance, design principles, and equipment troubleshooting
- Skilled in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, welding equipment, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools
- Experience with HVAC system installation across commercial or residential settings along with property maintenance tasks
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about system issues and solutions
- Certifications including EPA refrigerant handling (Section 608), electrical diagnostics skills, welding certifications preferred but not required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for field service operations
