InterStellar BBQ, a Texas Monthly Top 50 and Michelin Star restaurant is hiring a full time prep cook. Our restaurant is busy and growing so we're looking to expand our team. We are looking for a friendly, fun person with a good personality to join our team. The right person should have experienced knife skills, understand time management and should be comfortable with large scale prep. Experience working in BBQ is a plus, but not required.
Job Description: To cook and prepare scratch recipes daily. Specific duties: Protein trimming and production. Large volume of knife work. Dicing, chopping and preparing vegetables, making bbq sauce, and pickling. Sauce making.
Pay: $15-$18 per hour base pay based on experience, plus tips. Total compensation averages $24-$28 per hour.
Benefits: Health insurance available at 60 days with company contribution. Paid week off after one year.
Hours: 8am- 4pm / days: Tuesday - Saturday or 8am- 4pm / days: Wednesday -Sunday
Responsibilities:
- Creating daily prep list
- Following recipes
- Working clean and following proper sanitation rules
- Maintaining and cleaning prep station daily
- Must be able to lift 50 to 75 pound boxes
- Should have time management skills and be able to multi-task
