Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Systems Engineer role within their Regional Strike Programs, offering an exciting opportunity for aerospace industry professionals to contribute to mission-critical defense solutions. This position involves working on advanced hardware, software, and systems integration projects that support national security objectives, with a focus on innovative systems engineering practices.
Location: Pittsfield, MA (Hybrid)
Position: Systems Engineer - Regional Strike Programs
Contract Length: 12-24 months with possibility of going direct
Pay: $58.38 per hour
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Science, Engineering, or Mathematics; minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred.
Clearance Requirement: Department of Defense Secret security clearance
Schedule: First Shift
In this role, you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, integrate, and validate hardware and software systems for regional strike capabilities.
- Lead requirements analysis, documentation, and management to ensure system compliance and performance.
- Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques to create system models, simulations, and design analyses.
- Design, troubleshoot, and optimize hardware systems to meet mission specifications.
- Conduct hardware/software validation, verification, and performance testing to ensure system readiness.
- Incorporate AI tools and methodologies to enhance system design, testing, and documentation processes.
- Support system integration efforts, including troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues in complex defense systems.
- Maintain compliance with security protocols and manage classified information in accordance with DoD standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Expertise in systems engineering tools such as IBM Rational DOORS, MagicDraw, or similar requirements management and modeling platforms.
- Proficiency with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, embedded systems, and real-time software development.
- Strong understanding of defense standards such as MIL-STD, DO-178C, and cybersecurity protocols relevant to aerospace systems.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies within defense or aerospace projects.
- Ability to leverage AI and machine learning tools for requirements analysis, system optimization, and automation of engineering tasks.
- Familiarity with RF systems, avionics, or missile systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills in high-stakes environments.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with emerging aerospace and defense technologies.
