Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a smooth flow of service.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Toast, and communicate orders effectively to kitchen staff.
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, recommend specials, and upsell items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Monitor guest needs throughout their visit, responding quickly to requests for additional items or assistance.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties, while maintaining accountability for all sales.
- Uphold food safety and sanitation standards by following proper food handling procedures and sanitation protocols.
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning service areas, and supporting kitchen staff during busy periods.
- Utilize reservation systems like OpenTable to manage bookings efficiently and maximize seating capacity.
- Build rapport with guests to foster repeat business through excellent customer service and guest relations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, preferably with fine dining or nightlife experience.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as toast.
- Strong knowledge of food handling, sanitation standards, and food safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally.
- Demonstrated ability in upselling techniques to boost sales while enhancing guest experience.
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and billing procedures.
- Experience in serving at nightclubs or high-energy venues is advantageous but not required.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
