Reports to: Plant Manager
Nanak Foods is seeking an individual to support our management team with HR /office operations at our manufacturing facility located in Bellingham. We are looking for a dynamic person with a high level of professionalism, who is a self-starter and looking to take their career to the next level.
Essential Skills and Responsibilities:
Human Resources
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment, including posting job advertisements, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
- Prepare employment offers, contracts, new hire documentation, and onboarding packages.
- Facilitate new employee orientation and onboarding.
- Maintain accurate employee files and HRIS records.
- Track employee attendance, vacation, leaves of absence, and overtime.
- Assist with payroll preparation by ensuring employee information is accurate and submitted on time.
- Administer employee benefits, enrollments, and changes.
- Prepare employment verification letters and other HR correspondence.
- Support performance management, training, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and health & safety requirements.
- Assist with investigations, disciplinary documentation, and employee relations matters as required.
- Generate HR reports and maintain confidential HR records.
Administration
- Manage office supplies and coordinate purchasing of administrative materials.
- Answer telephone calls, greet visitors, and provide administrative support to management.
- Coordinate meetings, training sessions, and company events.
- Maintain company records, filing systems, and document control.
- Coordinate employee uniforms, PPE, security access cards, and company equipment.
- Liaise with vendors and service providers for office-related requirements.
- Support travel arrangements and meeting logistics when required.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CHRP designation or working towards certification is considered an asset.
- Minimum 2–3 years of HR and administrative experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of employment standards and workplace legislation.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems e.g., ADP, is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

- Familiarity with workplace health and safety practices and Joint Health & Safety Committee requirements
