PASSPORT TO LEARNING, INC. is seeking individuals with backgrounds in Social Work, Mental Health, Human Services, Teacher's Assistant, or Education to work part-time with an option to work full-time with individuals who have an intellectual disability. Social and Mental Health work is conducted in the clients' home environment and in the community to establish positive routines, functional skill development for the enhancement of the clients' daily living skills. Additionally, the educator or support person will provide training and guidance to clients in a mentor-style relationship for the attainment of personal goals. Only candidates residing in or within 10 miles of one of the specified service areas will be considered for this social work & mental health position. Must be available to meet with clients in their communities to provide skills training, attend social service meetings, and medical appointments several times a month. Reports to PTL's office located in South Los Angeles for in-person meetings when required or remotely. Must attend staff meetings, training, and supervision, and client QA meetings held by Los Angeles program management. On-the-job training is provided.

PASSPORT TO LEARNING, INC. (PTL) is dedicated to serving a community of individuals with intellectual disabilities who need assistance in adapting to meet age-specific developmental milestones. Independent Living Skills (ILS) is an age-appropriate functional skills training for individuals with Autism, MMR, Down Syndrome, and other intellectual disabilities to increase their daily living skills at home and in the community. The Supported Living Service (SLS) is a program that works with adult clients who live on their own but need support and training in various areas of daily living, such as Menu Planning, Meal Preparation, Money Management, Home Maintenance, Community Safety, and Resources, Access to Health Care, and others. Adaptive Skills Training (AST) is a training program for individuals in the adolescent or adult stage of life to increase age-appropriate responsibilities in the home environment or promote community integration or to support academic goals and establish positive academic routines at the school site.
*Compensation: Starting Salary: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour based on qualifications, $.72.5/mile for mileage reimbursement, $17.87/hr. travel time pay and $17.87 for indirect time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in one of the following disciplines: psychology, social sciences, human services, education or teachers assistant.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: This position will require your availability to work some late afternoons and Saturdays as well. Reliable transportation is a must. Valid California Driver's License, Automotive Insurance, and CPR/ 1st Aid are required. A background clearance is required.
