Position Summary:
To work with classroom teachers to effectively plan, coordinate and carry out classroom instruction for English Language Learners. Work with children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth by performing the following duties.
What You'll Be Doing: (Responsibilities)
include the following.
- Assist teacher with organizational needs in the classroom
- Assist students with lessons and assignments in regular classrooms as assigned.
- Tutor students on lessons as determined by the teacher or instructional coach.
- Plan, prepare, and develop various teaching aids.
- Help to maintain a positive classroom environment.
- Provide short-term classroom coverage when teacher must leave the room but remains within the building.
- Work as a member of the learning team in cooperation with the building staff.
- Supervise students in halls, stairwells, and during recess.
- Attend orientation and in-service training sessions.
- Work cooperatively with parents and other classroom volunteers.
Other duties as assigned.

To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To: (Qualifications)
- Sixty (60) college hours, 2.5 minimum g.p.a. (Instructional Paraprofessional qualification)
- Missouri state substitute teacher certification
- Possess skills in working with children and their parents
- Desire to work with elementary grade children
Must have excellent dual language* speaking/writing skills - Spanish
