Job Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Lake Point Recovery and Wellness provides compassionate, high-quality care to clients in our detox and recovery programs, following the orders of the prescribing physician and/or medical director. This role involves administering medications, conducting health assessments, and performing essential medical procedures in alignment with best practices to ensure client safety and comfort. The LPN works closely with other clinical team members to monitor client conditions and respond promptly to their health needs. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the LPN collaborates directly with the Medical Director to support medical evaluations, update treatment plans, and make necessary adjustments to client care.
In addition to direct care, the LPN provides oversight for all detoxification staff, ensuring medications are accurately administered, inventoried, monitored, and securely stored. The LPN upholds the highest standards of service, preserving client dignity and confidentiality, and fostering a safe, compliant, and supportive environment throughout the recovery process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The LPN ensures that best practices are in place that will offer the highest quality of service to the client while safeguarding their dignity and confidentiality. The LPN provides oversight to all Detoxification employees and ensures that all medications are administered correctly, inventoried, monitored, and safeguarded.

- Direct Patient Care and Medical Support:
- Administer prescribed medications, including injections, treatments, and procedures following standard nursing practices and agency policies.
- Perform nursing functions within the Lake Point Recovery and Wellness facility, promoting a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Carry out doctor-ordered plans of care and medication instructions; educate clients on possible medication side effects and observe for adverse reactions.
- Monitor clients for withdrawal symptoms and substance misuse and make appropriate referrals for medical detox if necessary.
- Maintain accurate clinical and medical health records in an electronic system.
- Client Assessment and Compliance:
- Obtain and document vital signs, alcohol breath content, urinalysis, and drug screens.
- Assess potential clients for observational detoxification and determine the need for medical detoxification.
- Maintain necessary documentation for compliance with DBHS, CARF, and other relevant standards.
- Review and oversee medication log sheets, monitor scheduled medication times, and perform medication counts for accuracy.
- Team Collaboration and Oversight:
- Work directly with the Medical Director on Tuesdays and Thursdays to support client evaluations, adjust care plans, and coordinate treatment.
- Act as a liaison between detoxification and treatment staff, supporting the client referral/transfer process.
- Provide oversight of detoxification staff to ensure medications are administered, inventoried, and secured according to best practices.
- Crisis Management and Client Transportation:
- Respond to crises, providing support as necessary.
- Transport clients to doctor appointments as needed and approved.
- Serve on-call after hours, responding within one hour and providing assistance as necessary.
- Professional Development and Continuous Improvement:
- Attend bi-weekly staff and CARF professional development meetings, providing input on facility improvement, treatment activities, and client programs.
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure effective, efficient client care delivery and support the achievement of desired client outcomes.
- Participate in continuous training and development to meet all agency, state, local, and federal guidelines.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain compliance with all confidentiality and privacy policies.
- Perform non-detoxification duties as needed and feasible.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support facility operations and client care.
Qualifications:
· Education: Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
· Licensure: Current, unrestricted LPN license in the state of Arkansas.
· Experience: Prior experience in substance use treatment, mental health, or medical-surgical nursing preferred.
· Knowledge of addiction treatment and detox protocols.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR).
