Assistant Superintendent
- Location: Denver, CO
- Compensation: $70,000–$75,000/year
Are you a hands-on construction professional ready to take the next step in your career?
We are partnering with a well-established Denver construction company looking for an Assistant Superintendent to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who comes from the field, enjoys working with their hands, and wants to gain more exposure to the coordination and leadership side of construction.
This is not a traditional desk-heavy Assistant Superintendent position. Roughly 75% of the role will be hands-on in the field and shop, with the remaining time focused on project coordination, scheduling, materials, safety, and documentation.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Superintendent:
- Work alongside field crews and assist with installation and general production needs
- Support drywall, acoustical ceiling, millwork, and other interior construction projects
- Assist with shop and fabrication work
- Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for upcoming projects
- Visit jobsites to assess progress and upcoming needs
- Help coordinate crews, manpower, and project schedules
- Review construction plans, drawings, and field prints
- Coordinate material orders, purchase orders, deliveries, and pickups
- Assist with safety documentation, JHAs, and jobsite requirements
- Support punch lists, change orders, and project documentation
- Track tools, equipment, inventory, and employee time
- Jump in wherever needed to keep projects moving
Requirements of the Assistant Superintendent:
- Hands-on construction experience required
- Experience with drywall, acoustical ceilings, custom millwork, or similar interior construction strongly preferred
- Comfortable working in both field and shop environments
- Ability to read construction plans and drawings
- Basic computer skills and comfort handling job documentation
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proactive, dependable, and comfortable wearing multiple hats
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has built their career in the trades and wants to grow into a leadership position without completely stepping away from the hands-on side of construction.
