Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Brake Press Operator to join a production team. This role is responsible for setting up and operating press brake machines, reading blueprints, and ensuring accurate metal fabrication.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and confident in both machine setup and operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation & Setup
- Set up and operate press brake machines for precision metal forming
- Adjust tooling, dies, and machine settings to meet specifications
- Perform routine machine checks and adjustments to ensure optimal performance
Quality & Measurement
- Accurately use measuring tools such as calipers, squares, and protractors
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine production specifications
- Ensure all work meets quality and accuracy standards
General Duties
- Maintain compliance with all safety procedures and company policies
- Assist with additional shop tasks as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications:
Required:
- 2–3 years of press brake operation experience
- At least 1 year of experience with flat layouts, bend allowances, press brake programming, and setup
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work overtime when needed
- Flexibility to switch tasks based on shop demands
Preferred:
- Experience in the sheet metal industry
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and materials
- Frequent standing for long periods in a physically demanding role
- Ability to lift or maneuver 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly
