Position Summary
We are seeking a Accounts Payable Clerk to join our property management team. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position is responsible for ensuring vendor invoices and payments are processed accurately and timely while maintaining organized and accurate financial records.
The successful candidate must be self-motivated, dependable, reliable, and highly detail-oriented, with a strong sense of accountability and follow-through.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and code vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Review invoices for accuracy, proper approvals, and appropriate documentation.
- Prepare and process accounts payable payments in a timely manner.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate vendor records and account information.
- Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account balances.
- Work closely with property management staff and internal teams to ensure invoices are properly coded and approved.
- Assist with monthly accounting close and accounts payable reconciliations.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical accounting records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
- Identify discrepancies or issues and take appropriate action to resolve them.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably with accounts payable experience.
- Property management or real estate accounting experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Dependable and reliable with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience with accounting or property management software is preferred, but not required
