Overview:
The Maintenance Lead is responsible for the repair and maintenance of facility equipment. This position will also assist or lead in all other aspects of grain handling, storage, maintaining facilities/equipment and elevator operations.
5V, LLC is joint venture partnership between Viserion Grain, LLC and Five Rivers Cattle Feeding encompassing a shuttle train grain facility in Dalhart, Texas. This facility is positioned to meet the growing demand for feed in the region and represents a key strategic asset to complement the partners’ existing grain, merchandising, and feed businesses.
Responsibilities:
- Use hand and power tools to repair or replace faulty equipment parts and reassemble equipment.

Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly and operate efficiently.

Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.

Use tools ranging from hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.

Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.

Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.

Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.

Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, forklifts, hand tools, and power tools.

Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams.

Operate a cutting torch or welding equipment to perform repairs and fabrication.
- Thoroughly understands all facets of Viserion’s safety programs and culture, with strong working knowledge of safety procedures and environmental regulations.
- Consistently demonstrates safe working practices and promptly communicates safety alarms to operations.

Responsible for properly and accurately recording all applicable documentation.

Assist all areas of the loading, unloading, and transferring of grain and grain products for truck, and rail
- Perform basic housekeeping and cleaning duties.

Compliance with all the Company’s safety programs and policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Associates, Technical or Mechanical Degree desired.

Two to five (3-5) years of experience.
Skills:
- Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious environment.

Ability to work in a quality-controlled environment.

Welding and light fabrication preferred.

Agriculture and/or grain elevator experience preferred.
Physical Requirments:
- Regularly walk, bend and stoop.

Regularly required to walk on catwalks at a variety of heights; up to 200 feet with appropriate safety equipment.

Regularly climb stairs and ladders.

Regularly lift up to 75 pounds.

Regularly enter and works in confined spaces.
