The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
The Youth and Family Life Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and supporting programs and ministries that strengthen the faith life of children, youth, young adults, and families within the parish community. This position seeks to foster a welcoming, Christ-centered environment where individuals and families can encounter Jesus Christ, grow in their Catholic faith, build meaningful relationships, and actively participate in the life of the Church.
The ideal candidate is a practicing Catholic who is passionate about evangelization, faith formation, youth ministry, and family life and who demonstrates a genuine love for children, teens, and families.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement faith formation opportunities for children, youth, and families.
- Develop engaging, age-appropriate programs that encourage young people to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and their understanding of the Catholic faith.
- Coordinate youth ministry activities, retreats, service opportunities, social events, Bible studies, and other parish youth programs.
- Encourage youth participation in Mass, the Sacraments, parish activities, and the broader life of the Church.
- Collaborate with catechists, volunteers, parents, and parish staff to provide consistent and meaningful faith formation.
- Recruit, train, support, and appreciate adult and youth volunteers involved in parish programs.
- Develop programs and events that support families in living out their Catholic faith at home and in the parish.
- Create opportunities for families to pray, learn, serve, and build community together.
- Provide resources and encouragement to parents as the primary educators of their children in the faith.
- Coordinate family-centered events, gatherings, service projects, and social activities.
- Foster a welcoming parish environment where families of all ages and stages feel valued and connected.
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church.
- Passion for sharing the Catholic faith and serving children, youth, and families.
- Bachelor’s degree in theology, religious education, pastoral ministry, youth ministry, education, or a related field preferred; equivalent ministry experience may be considered.
- Experience in Catholic youth ministry, religious education, family ministry, or parish ministry preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to recruit, train, encourage, and work effectively with volunteers.
- Ability to connect positively with children, teenagers, parents, and adults of varying ages.
- Comfortable speaking to and leading groups.
- Proficiency with common office, communication, and social media platforms.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with parish staff and volunteers.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, and parish events as ministry needs require.
