Maintenance Mechanic
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves intermediate work, routine water or wastewater facility machinery, piping, and equipment problems.
Inspects and identifies issues on equipment, components and structures; documents and reports issues associated with process equipment at electric, water and wastewater facilities.
Completes predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance.
Assists in the installation, dismantle, repair, and preventative maintenance of pumps, motors, and other equipment utilized in the operation of large scale water, sewer and/or electric utility plant facilities and field stations.
Operates or uses a variety of hand or power tools and makes parts and fixtures by cutting and shaping metals.
Assists in painting tasks; performs maintenance on building structures and equipment maintenance, including HVAC system.
May require the part‑time operation of some machinery and equipment using hoists, jacks, and ladders.
May operate a forklift, powered vertical lifting equipment, confined space equipment, utility truck, crane, vacuum/jetter combination unit, water tanker, or other heavy equipment.
Works shift schedule and on-call and call-out duty as needed (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
Completes other job duties as assigned.
Senior Mechanic
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following)
Under limited supervision, performs technical work in the maintenance, fabrication, repair, and overhaul of various structures and equipment associated with the treatment plants and/or wastewater lift station facilities.
Troubleshoots and resolves routine water or wastewater facility machinery, piping, and equipment problems.
Installs, dismantles, constructs and assembles, services, repairs, overhauls, and maintains pumps, blowers, electric motors, engines, compressors, turbines, and specialized equipment for plant-specific use.
Participates in painting tasks; assists electricians, technicians, and building maintenance as required. Conducts preventive maintenance repairs and service on operating equipment and components; performs diagnostic testing, as well as keeps maintenance schedules.
Utilizes hand tools, power tools and shop equipment, such as milling machines, to maintain, fabricate, or repair parts for equipment and structures; performs skilled plumbing and pipefitting in the modification of plant systems.
May operate a forklift, powered vertical lifting equipment, confined space equipment, utility truck, crane, vacuum/jetter combination unit, water tanker, or other heavy equipment.
Cuts, welds, and brazes metal through use of Oxygen-Acetylene torches.
Enters confined spaces and rehabilitates lift stations and treatment plant structures.
Reads blueprints and diagrams.
Organizes and plans work, keeps work records updated, and generates reports.
Works shift schedule and on-call and call-out duty as needed (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
Sets up traffic control devices and directs traffic on assigned work areas.
Completes other job duties as assigned.
Lead Mechanic
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following)
Under limited direction, performs technical, advanced, and complex level work in the maintenance, fabrication, repair, and overhaul of various structures and equipment associated with the treatment plants and/or wastewater lift station facilities.
Troubleshoots and resolves complex water or wastewater facility machinery, piping, and equipment problems.
Installs, dismantles, constructs and assembles, services, repairs, overhauls, and maintains pumps, blowers, electric motors, engines, compressors, turbines, and specialized equipment for plant-specific use.
