Engineering Manager, Connection Design Services
Location: Tempe, AZ (Hybrid & Remote Available)
Build a brand-new in-house connection design and PE stamping practice from scratch inside a global engineering firm with 900+ professionals and 50 years of legacy work on the world's most complex steel, mining, and energy projects.
Must-Haves
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license with authority to stamp and seal connection design drawings
- 10+ years in structural or connection design, with 5+ years in a leadership or management role
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering
- Proficiency in engineering design software and genuine interest in AI-assisted workflows and digital innovation
What You'll Do
Lead the transition of connection design from an outsourced model to a scalable in-house function. You'll start hands-on, stamping drawings and supporting estimating, sales enablement, and project delivery.
As the practice grows, you'll recruit and mentor a high-performing engineering team, define standards, and own quality assurance across the North American portfolio.
Partner with sales and tender teams to scope projects, coordinate estimates, and ensure commercial alignment on large-scale infrastructure work.
Integrate Python, automation, and AI workflows into engineering delivery to drive efficiency and set a new bar for the discipline.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
