Industrial Equipment/Machinery Technician Job Description
Industrial Equipment Technicians are primarily responsible for the setup, repairing, installing, and maintaining various types of industrial equipment, including conveyors, production machinery, stamping machines, robots, powder coating equipment, polishing and sanding machines, and packaging equipment. The Industrial Equipment Technician will be responsible for setting up new jobs, troubleshooting problems, carrying out maintenance and repair tasks, and ensuring that the machinery is in good working condition to promote efficient operations.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronics, PLC controls, as well as welding and other general mechanical skills. They use their technical skills and product knowledge to ensure that the industrial equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
· Evaluating malfunctioning equipment to diagnose the source of any issues.
· Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery, consisting of mechanical and electrical equipment.
· Set up machinery for new jobs and products.
· Making changes to software programs during the set up of new jobs or for new products.
· Performing regular preventive maintenance to keep machines running optimally
· Installing and setting up new equipment, including calibrating and configuring as per manufacturer’s specifications
· Repairing or replacing faulty equipment parts
· Interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to understand equipment operations
· Testing repaired equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly and safely
