Employment Specialist
Full-Time | Exempt
Salary: $50,000 Base + Travel Allowance + Performance-Based Incentives

This role is ideal for someone who:
- Is outgoing, confident, and comfortable building relationships with employers and community partners
- Enjoys teaching, coaching, and advocating for individuals with disabilities
- Is highly organized and able to manage a calendar, appointments, and client caseload independently
- Takes initiative, meets goals, and performs well without direct oversight
- Communicates clearly and professionally—both verbally and in writing
- Values honesty, teamwork, accountability, and long-term commitment

This position reports to the VP of Workforce Development (or designee) and offers a semi-flexible schedule with hands-on, community-based responsibilities.
What You’ll Do: Community Outreach & Job Development
- Proactively build and maintain relationships with employers, community partners, and Vocational Rehabilitation counselors
- Conduct outreach and relationship-based “sales” calls to develop employment opportunities
- Work toward clearly defined performance goals related to job development, placements, and retention
- Represent Wiregrass Resource Group professionally and confidently in the community
Employment & Job Coaching
- Guide individuals through job applications, interview preparation, and workplace onboarding
- Provide on-the-job coaching and support to promote long-term employment success
- Break down job duties into teachable, manageable steps
- Model professional workplace behavior and support appropriate social interactions
Collaboration, Case & Client Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, employers, VR counselors, and support teams
- Independently manage a client caseload, schedules, and follow-ups
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation and reports
Organization, Accountability & Professional Standards
- Manage your own calendar, appointments, and deadlines with minimal supervision
- Track progress toward performance benchmarks and outcomes
- Stay current on supported employment best practices through ongoing training
- Follow GVRA requirements, agency procedures, and safety standards

Compensation & Incentives
- $50,000 base salary plus travel allowance
- Performance-based incentive bonuses tied to clearly defined goals such as job placements, retention outcomes, employer engagement, and documentation compliance
- Incentives reward initiative, consistency, and measurable impact
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Social Work, Counseling, HR, or a related field
(OR 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage time effectively
- Comfort with community outreach, employer engagement, and goal-driven work
- Valid Georgia driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a Level 2 Background Check
Preferred:
- Experience in job coaching, education, workforce development, HR, or disability services
- Experience working in roles with performance metrics or incentive-based outcomes
