Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Overnight Care Provider to deliver exceptional care and support to individuals in a residential or community-based setting during nighttime hours. Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance including help with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor residents’ vital signs and overall health status during overnight shifts, reporting any concerns promptly.
- Assist with medication administration following prescribed schedules and safety protocols.
- Maintain a safe environment by practicing proper manual handling techniques and adhering to safe patient lifting practices.
- Support residents with dementia or cognitive disabilities through behavior management strategies and compassionate engagement.
- Document all care activities accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems or paper logs as required.
- Respond swiftly to emergencies or incidents, coordinating with emergency services when necessary, and ensuring resident safety at all times.
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly valued.
- Strong background in assisting with ADLs, medication management, and vital signs monitoring.
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and geriatrics best practices.
- Proficiency in CPR and first aid certification to handle emergency situations confidently.
- Ability to operate standard passenger cars safely for client transportation or errands if needed.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with residents, families, and team members while maintaining confidentiality.
