Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Personal Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various living environments. Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor patient health by checking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature regularly.
- Support medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for privacy and confidentiality.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a positive environment for residents or clients.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking.
- Help with mobility and transfers using proper patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through light cleaning duties and ensure a safe environment for all residents.
- Document patient observations, update care plans, and communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding changes in condition or needs.
- Support residents during outings or appointments using personal transportation assistance when needed.
- Follow all safety protocols including first aid, CPR certification requirements, and emergency response procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and dementia or Alzheimer's care strategies.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure client privacy at all times.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and patient transfers using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in hospice care or geriatrics are a plus.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and document observations accurately.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or evenings as needed.
