Position Overview:
Seeking a detail-oriented Grant Accountant to support the CFO in managing financial operations of a small nonprofit, including but not limited to transaction entry, grant tracking, journal entries, payroll processing, contract compliance, and audit preparation. Responsibilities:
· Record and maintain all financial transactions within the agency financial software.
· Maintain adequate tracking of spending for all federal, state, and local/other grants to assure timely and accurate spending.
· Record journal entries into the agency accounting software as required.
· Manage agency contracts with outside vendors to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.
· Assist in updated on industry trends and best practices.
· Collaborate with the CFO to develop and implement financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts.
· Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
· Monitor and analyze financial data, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
· Manage cash flow, investments, and financial risk.
· Implement and maintain effective internal controls.
· Assist in the preparation for audits and ensure successful outcomes.
· Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
· Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Proficiency in financial software and tools.
· Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Full Time – Exempt position; 40+ hours per week, Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $68,000 - $70,000
