Job Summary
Tried N True Plumbing is seeking a skilled and dependable Commercial Service Plumber to join our team. This position will primarily focus on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in commercial facilities, with residential service work assigned as needed.
The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting abilities, solid mechanical knowledge, and experience working with commercial plumbing systems. This is a service-focused position requiring professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with customers, property managers, and other trades.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in commercial facilities, including retail locations, offices, restaurants, schools, apartment communities, and other commercial properties.
- Complete residential plumbing service and repair calls when needed.
- Service and repair water supply lines, drainage systems, fixtures, toilets, faucets, water heaters, and other plumbing equipment.
- Troubleshoot leaks, drainage problems, water-pressure concerns, and plumbing system failures.
- Operate plumbing equipment, including drain augers, sewer cameras, ProPress tools, pipe-threading equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Conduct plumbing system inspections and clearly document findings and recommended repairs.
- Read and interpret plumbing diagrams, schematics, and blueprints when required.
- Work independently to determine appropriate repair options and complete approved work efficiently.
- Communicate professionally with customers, property managers, general contractors, and other trades regarding plumbing concerns and recommended solutions.
- Provide clear job documentation, including service notes, photographs, equipment information, and completed-work details.
- Follow all applicable plumbing codes, company procedures, and workplace safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and properly care for company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Assist with larger plumbing repairs, replacements, and commercial projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous commercial service plumbing experience is strongly preferred.
- Residential service plumbing experience is helpful, as residential calls may be assigned when needed.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of commercial water supply, drainage, fixture, and water-heating systems.
- Ability to install and repair plumbing fixtures, including toilets, sinks, faucets, water heaters, and related components.
- Experience operating drain-cleaning equipment and sewer cameras is preferred.
- Knowledge of pipe-threading and press-connection methods.
- Ability to safely and effectively use plumbing hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to read plumbing schematics and blueprints is helpful but not required.
- Construction-site experience and knowledge of jobsite safety procedures are helpful but not required.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean, insurable driving record.
- Commercial driver’s license is helpful but not required.
- Ability to perform the physical duties associated with commercial and residential plumbing service work.
