Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, cranes, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Manage inventory control processes using warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners to track stock levels accurately.
- Assist with order picking and packing using various tools including order pickers and mechanical knowledge to ensure timely shipment of goods.
- Conduct shipping and receiving activities by verifying shipments against documentation, preparing items for dispatch, and maintaining proper records.
- Support warehouse distribution operations by stocking shelves, organizing materials, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow, improve inventory accuracy, and implement best practices for materials handling.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks regularly while adhering to safety protocols for heavy equipment operation and manual handling.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations including inventory management, stocking, order fulfillment, and shipping & receiving.
- Skilled in operating heavy equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers with mechanical aptitude.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400 platforms, RF scanners, and other inventory control tools.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse environments and heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting and materials handling efficiently while maintaining safety standards.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or construction environments is a plus for understanding heavy equipment use and mechanical knowledge.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in stock management, order picking & packing, and load & unload procedures.
