LEGAL ASSISTANT/PARALEGAL
Dankesreiter & Emmet, LLP is seeking a Paralegal/Legal Assistant in the areas of civil litigation and family law. The position is for a full-time employee to work in our office. The role requires a polished demeanor, initiative to independently monitor deadlines and upcoming tasks, and the ability to multitask. This position will be in control of and responsible for processes and results.
The paralegal will assist attorneys with drafting and proofreading legal documents, gathering information and documents, communicating with clients, and overall case management. The role includes filing pleadings through efile systems, preparing for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials by organization of pleadings and exhibits.
Legal Assistant/Paralegal Responsibilities:
- Manage a case load of cases including meeting legal deadlines.
- Communicate with clients, the court, and opposing parties.
- Create initial drafts of pleadings, discovery, and correspondence.
- Organizing and maintaining documents in an electronic filing system.

Job Requirements:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and legal billing software.

- Ability to maintain schedules and adhere to deadlines.
- Ability to juggle tasks and be flexible as work demands vary.
- Ability to prioritize and manage shifting responsibilities.
- Able to make quick decisions, solve problems, and maintain confidentiality.
- Past experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal is preferred.
Working Conditions:
Professional business casual office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
