Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Painter to join our dynamic construction and renovation team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to a variety of surfaces across residential, commercial, and structural projects. Your expertise will help transform spaces, enhance aesthetics, and ensure durable protection for buildings. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces thoroughly by cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine appropriate painting methods and materials for each project
- Apply paint using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including conventional and construction spray painting), and power tools with precision and efficiency
- Perform surface coating tasks on various structures such as walls, ceilings, trim, stucco, masonry, and fixtures in both interior and exterior settings
- Use ladders safely to access hard-to-reach areas while adhering to all safety regulations and protocols including respiratory protection measures
- Conduct surface preparation activities like sanding, patching holes, caulking gaps, and restoring surfaces to meet project standards
- Collaborate with team members on renovation projects involving framing carpentry, drywall installation, plastering, masonry work, fixture installation, and general maintenance tasks
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of construction estimating processes related to painting projects
- Strong understanding of color theory for achieving desired aesthetic effects
- Proficiency in residential painting techniques as well as commercial and structural coatings
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including both conventional and construction spray equipment), brushes, rollers, and other painting apparatus
- Familiarity with safety regulations including proper use of respiratory protection and adherence to safety protocols on construction sites
- Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans for accurate execution of work
- Experience with surface preparation such as sanding, plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, stucco application, fixture installation, restoration work, framing carpentry, masonry tasks, remodeling projects or general handyman experience
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations needed during estimating or surface preparation tasks
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures related to renovation projects or ongoing building upkeep
