Drill Operator – Foundation Drilling
Company Overview
Inland Foundation Specialties (IFS) specializes in construction of deep foundations, pile driving, dewatering, shoring, anchor systems and ground improvement. IFS works throughout the West including Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Montana and Wyoming. Home Base is Boise Idaho. Canidate must be willing to travel.
IFS is looking for an experienced drill operator with 2-3 years of experience operating foundation drills. Successful candidates will have experience drilling various types of soils including hard rock, slurry drilling, drilling with casing, and pouring shafts and setting reinforcement. Ideally, we would like experience operating Casagrande, Soilmec, and Watson Drills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operating large diameter hydraulic drills
- Inspecting and maintaining equipment to manufactures specifications
- Experience in operating heavy-duty equipment: excavators, forklifts, mini-excavators, and trucks
- Direct daily onsite crew assigned to the project
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly and efficiently, analytical ability to find solutions to difficult technical problems
- Responsible to maintain safe working environment and follow IFS and OSHA standards
- Coordinate with Project Managers on project needs
- Works harmoniously with peers, supervisors, and the public and complies with IFS’s policies
- Operating experience with short mast or low drills, and cranes is preferred, but not required.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Operating heavy equipment
- Proper use and understanding of crane rigging and signaling
- Through understanding of drill tools and equipment
- Self-motivated and willing to challenge themselves
License(s) or Certification(s) Required
- Valid Driver’s License, with the ability to obtain a Class A CDL
- Medical Card
- Certifications: Forklift, Manlift, Truck, Rigging, signal person, 10-hour OSHA, etc. or the ability to obtain them. In- house training and certification may be available.
- NCCCO Crane certification is preferred but not required; in house training and certification may be available.
- Welding Experience and preferably Certifications.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
