Job Summary
We are seeking a Skilled Laborer/Carpenter to join our construction team. This role involves performing a wide range of carpentry and construction tasks on residential and commercial projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, experience with various building materials, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to diverse projects, from framing and drywall installation to finishing and restoration work, supporting the successful completion of construction initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute construction plans.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install wood framing, cabinetry, doors, siding, and trim with precision.
- Operate hand tools and power tools for woodworking, metal stud framing, roofing, flooring installation, tile laying, and fixture installation.
- Perform concrete forming, rebar installation, plastering, stucco application, and masonry work as required.
- Conduct restoration tasks such as water damage remediation, mold remediation, siding repairs, and general building restoration.
- Ensure power tool safety protocols are followed during all operations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Assist with heavy lifting and material handling using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Fabricate custom components using woodworking machines or CNC equipment when necessary.
- Support plumbing, electrical, HVAC rough-ins or repairs in conjunction with licensed tradespeople.
- Maintain a clean worksite by organizing materials and disposing of debris properly.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction roles with a focus on carpentry or skilled labor within residential or commercial settings.
- Proficiency in construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools for woodworking and metal framing equipment.
- Knowledge of wood construction materials including framing lumber, plywood, drywall components, siding materials.
- Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and power tool safety protocols.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently on various job sites.
- Experience with remodeling projects such as fixture installation, flooring installation, tile laying, door hanging.
- Basic understanding of plumbing systems, electrical wiring principles (preferred but not mandatory).
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in fabrication and finishing tasks.
- Valid relevant certifications or licenses related to carpentry or construction (if applicable).
