Test Administrator / Exam Proctor – Part-Time Independent Contractor
TaylorMade Careers (TMC) is seeking an experienced, dependable, professional, and highly compliance-oriented Test Administrator/Exam Proctor to support our professional testing center in Round Rock, Texas.

Previous testing or exam-proctoring experience is REQUIRED. This is not an entry-level proctor position.
This is a project-based, high-compliance environment where exam security, confidentiality, accuracy, and strict adherence to testing policies are essential.
This position has no guaranteed hours or set weekly schedule. Hours are determined by scheduled testing volume and business needs and may fluctuate from week to week. When testing volume supports staffing, anticipated availability is approximately 24–30 hours per week. Scheduling may include Monday–Saturday, depending on exam appointments and operational needs. Additional hours may be available during higher-volume testing periods.

TMC provides secure testing and assessment services across technology, professional, academic, government, and credentialing programs.
The Test Administrator/Exam Proctor is responsible for maintaining the security, integrity, and professionalism of the testing environment while providing a positive candidate experience.
This position requires someone who is confident and professional and can enforce testing policies consistently—even when a candidate disagrees, becomes frustrated, or strongly pushes back.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer examinations according to strict testing policies, procedures, and security protocols.
- Verify candidate identification and complete required check-in procedures.
- Clearly explain testing rules and expectations before examinations begin.
- Monitor candidates throughout examinations and maintain a quiet, secure testing environment.
- Enforce testing policies consistently and without exception when policies apply, even when candidates challenge or disagree with the requirements.
- Address policy violations calmly and professionally while maintaining control of the testing environment.
- Identify and report irregularities, suspected misconduct, technical issues, and other concerns to management.
- Maintain confidentiality and safeguard examination materials and candidate information.
- Prepare testing rooms, computers, and workstations for scheduled appointments.
- Complete required testing records, reports, and administrative duties accurately.
- Open and close the testing center according to established procedures.
- Perform light cleaning and sanitizing of testing areas between appointments.
- Communicate promptly with management regarding testing, facility, or candidate concerns.
Required Qualifications
Previous experience as a Test Administrator, Exam Proctor, Testing Coordinator, or in a professional testing-center environment is REQUIRED.
Candidates should have experience with:
- Administering or proctoring secure examinations.
- Following detailed testing procedures and security protocols.
- Verifying candidate identification and completing secure check-in procedures.
- Monitoring candidates and maintaining exam security.
- Handling candidate questions, concerns, and policy challenges professionally.
- Documenting and reporting testing irregularities or incidents.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a high-compliance or regulated environment is a plus. Experience with multiple testing programs, computer-based testing, or secure examination systems is also beneficial.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Remain seated or standing for extended periods while monitoring examinations.
- Move throughout the testing area regularly.
- Escort candidates to and from testing rooms.
- Work in an office/testing-center environment, including occasional bending, stooping, and maneuvering around equipment.
- Lift up to 40 pounds with reasonable accommodation.
Independent Contractor Position
This is an independent contractor position with no guaranteed hours. Staffing needs are determined by scheduled exam volume and business needs and may fluctuate from week to week.
The successful candidate must understand that testing policies are not negotiable at the candidate level. When a policy or procedure applies, the Test Administrator is expected to enforce it consistently and escalate concerns to management when appropriate.
