Summary:
This position provides critical support to the Maryville University Speech-Language Pathology and Communication Sciences and Disorder's faculty and clinic. Students with this position will collaborate on departmental projects, manage clinic operations, and ensure effective communication with clients and faculty.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with faculty on department projects related to the clinical and academic needs of the department (e.g., Maryville Reaches Out screening).
- Effectively communicate with client families and other medical professionals via phone, email, and fax.
- Coordinate scheduling for the Speech-Language Clinic.
- Manage day-to-day clinic operations, including the electronic medical record system and audiovisual equipment, rooms, and materials.
- Assist with tasks as identified by faculty and clinical instructors, such as accessing treatment materials, scanning, copying, and laminating documents.
- Maintain student and client confidentiality (FERPA and HIPAA).
- Model the core values of the Speech-Language Pathology program
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a current full-time CMSD undergraduate student in good standing at Maryville University.
Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study (a US citizen who has completed the FAFSA) and available to work during the academic year from August 17, 2026-May 9, 2027.
Must be available to work the week before and week after each semester, in addition to each week during the semester.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
Familiarity with medical terminology a plus.
Physical Demands
Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds, such as clinic materials, equipment, or supplies.
Periods of sitting while performing administrative duties such as scheduling, documentation, and reviewing digital communication.
Adequate sensory skills and verbal skills to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, or via virtual platforms.

Position Pay: $15/hr
Hours per week: 10/hrs

End Date: 5/9/2027
