Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate PCA Supervisor to oversee personal care assistance services for our residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in caregiving and experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, and Alzheimer’s care. This role is crucial in ensuring that our residents receive the highest quality of care while promoting their dignity and independence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of personal care assistants to ensure effective service delivery.
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in resident conditions, reporting any concerns to appropriate medical personnel.
- Provide training and support to staff on best practices in caregiving, including first aid, medication administration, and behavior management.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by overseeing housekeeping tasks and ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals, families, and residents.
- Facilitate communication between residents, families, and staff to ensure a supportive community atmosphere.
- Utilize EMR systems for accurate record-keeping of resident care plans and progress notes.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, and senior care practices.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities and developmental challenges.
- Familiarity with long-term care settings as well as home & community care experience is advantageous.
- Ability to perform caregiving tasks such as cleaning, meal preparation, driving residents as needed, and using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage behavior effectively while providing compassionate support to residents.
- First aid certification is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
