The Facilities & Maintenance assistant is responsible for the maintenance, safety, functionality, and appearance of all ASC equipment. This position coordinates preventive maintenance programs, vendor services, repairs, facility projects, regulatory compliance, and asset management to ensure a safe and efficient environment for patients, providers, and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Facility Operations
- · Coordinate day-to-day facility maintenance activities at an ASC.
- · Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, clinical spaces, and administrative offices.
- · Identify maintenance needs and ensure timely resolution of facility issues.
- · Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment that supports patient care.
Maintenance Coordination
- · Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance programs for facility systems and equipment.
- · Coordinate repairs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, security, and other building systems.
- · Track service requests and ensure timely completion of work orders.
- · Maintain maintenance logs and service records.
Medical Equipment & Asset Management
- · Maintain inventory records for facility assets and non-clinical equipment.
- · Coordinate service, maintenance, and repairs with vendors and contractors.
- · Monitor equipment warranties and service agreements.
- · Assist with equipment installations, relocations, and facility upgrades.
Vendor & Contractor Management
- · Serve as the primary liaison for maintenance vendors, contractors, and service providers.
- · Obtain and organize quotes for repairs, renovations, and facility improvements.
Safety & Compliance
- · Support compliance with OSHA, fire safety, infection control, and facility-related regulatory requirements.
- · Coordinate inspections, permits, certifications, and corrective actions.
- · Maintain emergency preparedness plans and facility safety documentation.
- · Assist with workplace safety initiatives and incident investigations.
Project Coordination
- · Coordinate facility improvement projects, renovations, and office expansions.
- · Track project timelines, budgets, and vendor deliverables.
- · Minimize operational disruptions during maintenance and construction activities.
- · Collaborate with leadership on long-term facility planning.
- Documentation & Reporting
- · Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, warranties, contracts, and facility assets.
- · Prepare reports regarding facility performance, maintenance expenses, and capital improvement projects.
- · Monitor facility-related budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Qualifications
- · 2+ years of experience in facilities coordination, maintenance management, healthcare operations, or property management.
- · Knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance programs, and vendor management.
- · Familiarity with OSHA, life safety, and healthcare facility regulations preferred.
- · Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- · Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management software.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay Range: $21-$27 an hour
