Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Commercial Estimator / Designer to join our team and drive excellence in project planning and cost management. Duties
- Responsibilities – Estimator:
- Analyze project plans and specifications.
- Partner with Opps & Project Manager Amidst Construction of projects as needed
- Process & Submit Pay Application & Submittals for all Commercial & Development Projects
- Review and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers
- Ensure that all bid submissions are prepared and delivered well ahead of the established deadlines, allowing for thorough review and timely adjustments.
- Maintain a database of historical costs and project data for future reference.
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements.
Responsibilities – Designer:
- Consult with Business Develop Manager and clients to determine project goals and preferences.
- Develop conceptual and final design plans using CAD software or hand-drawn techniques.
- Select appropriate plants, materials, and construction elements for each project.
- Create detailed drawings and specifications for construction teams to follow.
- Conduct site analysis and ensure designs comply with local regulations and environmental considerations.
- Oversee design implementation and provide on-site guidance as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends, materials, and techniques.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates utilizing estimating software (BOSS) to develop precise estimates and maintain data accuracy for assigned projects to include labor, materials, and equipment.
- Integrate historical cost data and project information into estimating software.
- Prepare and present regular updates on project statuses to ensure alignment with project scope, budgetary considerations and incorporate any adjustments as needed.
- Conduct site visits to gather necessary data for accurate estimates.
- Schedule & lead all Pre & Post Con. meetings with Business Dev. Manager, Opps Manager, & Project Manager
Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or coursework in horticulture, landscape design, construction, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in landscape design, estimating, construction, or a related industry.
- Experience preparing proposals and sales presentations.
- Knowledge of landscape materials, irrigation systems, plant identification, and installation methods.
- Ability to read and interpret landscape plans, specifications, and site drawings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with estimating and design software (AutoCAD, DynaSCAPE, SketchUp, or similar) preferred.
- Strong mathematical skills and ability to prepare accurate material takeoffs and cost estimates.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and team members.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to occasionally visit job sites and perform work in outdoor conditions.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
