Instrument Technician / Sterile Processing Technician – Oral Surgery
Fairfax Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is a multi-location specialty practice seeking a full-time Instrument Technician / Sterile Processing Technician. This position may work primarily in one office but must be willing to travel between locations as needed.
No dental experience required.
Compensation depends on experience with opportunities for advancement.
This is a strong entry point into dentistry, surgical assisting, or healthcare sterilization careers.
Responsibilities
- Sterilize dental and surgical instruments
- Clean, disinfect, and decontaminate equipment
- Assemble and wrap surgical trays
- Operate autoclaves and monitor sterilization cycles
- Maintain sterile processing logs and documentation
- Stock operatories and manage supply inventory
- Turn over rooms between patients
- Support clinical and recovery areas as directed
Qualifications
- Reliable and on time
- Detail oriented
- Able to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Willing to travel between offices
- Experience in dental, medical, or sterile processing preferred but not required
