Position Summary:
The Buyer/Procurement Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day activities related to interfacing with their assigned customers. This includes but is not limited to enquiry handling, up selling and order processing.
Essential Functions:
Respond to customer enquiries through email, portals or by phone.
· Manage request for quotes and proposals.
· Evaluate customer needs to promote product or service sales.
· Negotiate prices or terms of sales or service agreements.
· Accurately converting and processing of orders in a timely manner
· Maintain and improve quality results by following standards and recommending improved policies and procedures.
· Maintain customer record, contacts, pricing, payment terms et al.
· Assist customers in making product selections, based on customers' needs, product specifications, and applicable regulations. Ability to upsell as when opportunities arise.
· Collaborate with outside sales colleagues to exchange information related pricing strategies with their accounts.
· Inform customers of estimated delivery schedules, service contracts, warranties, or other information pertaining to purchased products.
· General knowledge of products and services
· Verify that materials lists are accurate and that delivery schedules meet deadlines.
· Assist Credit Control team with collections as when required.
Position Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: 3 – 5 years in a customer facing commercial role
Profile: Strong communication skills (written and verbal); excellent team
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, SAP, Microsoft Outlook, Ariba
Work Environment: Primarily in an office environment; manage and work well under pressure; ability to multi-task and learn quickly.
