Pay range: $73,945 - $120,165 / year

Under minimal supervision, the Clinical Informaticist II positively influences health care delivery and patient care outcomes, promotes quality initiatives and makes efficient use of resources. Assists the Director/Manager Clinical Informatics (CI) in the development of tactical plans for both the CI department and assigned service line(s) Clinical Information Systems (CIS) components in support of overall UAB Medicine’s goals. The Clinical Informaticist II is responsible for the delivery of design and support services to assigned CI service line(s) (clinical, quality, training/testing, &/or analytics) to foster collaboration and coordination of patient care across the continuum through the design of processes/workflows, CIS planning, implementation, and end user support. He/she applies informatics practice expertise to design and deliver CI service standards and methods in alignment with professional standards of clinical and business practice.
Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare/Informatics/Business field, 3 years Informatics and 3 years Healthcare experience. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Health Care Delivery and Informatics. Master’s degree Healthcare/Informatics/Business preferred.
If has an earned healthcare/clinical degree (i.e. RN, Radiology, etc.), will maintain current State of Alabama licensure commensurate with degree. Attainment of certification in an Informatics related healthcare field (i.e. Project Management, Quality, Informatics, Training) within 2 years of assuming role.
Preferred: Professional Certification in Clinical Informatics, Healthcare Quality, and/or Training
