About the Position
The Beginner Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing various community maintenance functions necessary to maintain and enhance the value of the property. You will be responsible for handling service requests for residents and making improvements to vacant apartments to prepare them for market-ready status. You will be expected to always represent the company in a professional manner, including providing excellent customer service and responding to resident requests and concerns in a timely manner. On call, responds to after-hour emergency calls
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; Trade school and/or military training a plus.
- 0-2 years general maintenance experience (i.e., plumbing, electrical, carpeting, and painting, etc.)
- CPO preferred or must be willing to obtain within 60 days of employment.
- Valid driver's license along with good driving record and auto insurance are required.
- Work on-call rotation, responding to after-hour emergencies.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
· Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
· Other physical demands of the job, include standing, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting.
· Regularly required to travel outdoors between properties/buildings in varying weather conditions.
· Basic reading and writing skills.
· Basic math skills.
· Sound judgment/decision making skills.
