Full Job Description:
The Unkechaug Nation Dental Clinic is seeking a compassionate and dedicated General Dentist to join our newly established tribal dental clinic. This is an exciting opportunity to help build a growing community-based dental program while making a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our tribal members.
The clinic will initially focus on preventive and general dental care, with plans to expand into restorative and additional dental services as the program grows. We are seeking a dentist who values quality patient care, enjoys working collaboratively, and is interested in helping shape the future of a new dental clinic.
Position Details:
Part-Time (18 hours per week; 3 days per week, 6-hour shifts)
Flexible schedule; workdays determined with the selected candidate
Independent Contractor (1099)
Not eligible for employee benefits
Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive dental examinations and oral health assessments.
Diagnose dental conditions and develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide preventive and general dental services within the scope of practice.
Educate patients on oral hygiene, disease prevention, and maintaining good oral health.
Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation.
Collaborate with dental staff to ensure quality patient care.
Participate in the continued development and growth of the dental clinic.
Qualifications
Required:
DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
Active New York State dental license in good standing.
Current DEA registration, if applicable.
Current malpractice insurance or the ability to obtain coverage.
Excellent communication and patient care skills.
Preferred:
Experience in community health, public health, tribal health, or underserved populations.
Interest in helping expand clinical services as the dental program grows.
