About The Purple Group
The Purple Group is a fully virtual tax and advisory firm supporting small businesses, entrepreneurs, investors, and individuals with complex tax needs. We’re not just here to file returns. We help clients make thoughtful, informed decisions all year long.
We’re a team in the real sense. We lean on each other, share knowledge, and solve problems together so no one’s left spinning their wheels alone. At the same time, we trust each other to take ownership of our work. Independence and clarity are a big part of how we operate. You’ll know what’s expected, have the freedom to manage your time, and always have someone to check in with when needed.
We value straightforward communication, accountability, and making tax and accounting feel a little more human. Clients count on us to keep their books clean and their tax lives in order, and we take that trust seriously without taking ourselves too seriously.
If you enjoy being part of a thoughtful, curious, and supportive team and you like having room to work independently with a clear sense of direction you’ll likely feel right at home here.

This is a part-time position, approximately 20 to 25 hours per week, with room to grow to full-time if desired. You’ll manage full-charge bookkeeping for a mix of small business clients, working closely with our internal team to ensure clean, timely financials. We’re looking for someone dependable and thoughtful. Someone who enjoys keeping things organized and helping business owners make sense of their numbers.

- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare reports for internal use and client review
- Assist with payroll-related entries and bookkeeping tasks tied to tax prep and planning
- Communicate with clients via email, Microsoft Teams, and video calls
- Use tools like QuickBooks Online, ADP, Gusto, Ramp, Xero, and Bill.com to keep everything running smoothly
- Proactively follow up on outstanding items, flag inconsistencies, and ask smart questions
- Stay organized and handle sensitive information with care
What We’re Looking For
- At least 4 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience, preferably with small businesses
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online
- Familiarity with QBO, Gusto, Ramp, Xero, and Bill.com is helpful
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and confidence managing the monthly close
- Clear, professional communicator who’s comfortable working directly with clients
- Independent, efficient, and focused on solving problems early
- A reliable home office setup with secure internet and a quiet workspace
Why You Might Like Working With Us
- 100% remote team, built for flexibility and balance
- No busy season chaos - we’re consistent and plan ahead
- We respect your time, communicate clearly, and do our best to make work feel manageable and rewarding
- You'll be part of a small, experienced team that values each person’s contributions
- Potential to grow into a full-time role
