POSITION: Kids’ Corner Before and After School Teacher
REPORTS TO: Director of Preschool and Child Care
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Must be at least 18 years of age and pass all background clearance checks
-
High school diploma or equivalent, additional education in elementary education, child development, or related field
-
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with students and staff
-
Ability to learn and implement new strategies or procedures to assist students ages 3-12
-
Strong communication skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Supervise elementary students in before and after-school care classrooms
-
Develop and maintain a positive and engaging after-school classroom environment
-
Create enriching activities for elementary students during out-of-school time
-
Work as a team member supporting program, building, and district practices and policies Assist children in following the classroom routine
-
Facilitate social interaction and communication with peers and staff
-
Ability to adjust quickly to meet student needs
-
Uphold State of Michigan Child Care Licensing Laws and regulations
-
Maintain yearly continuing education as outlined by Childcare Licensing
SALARY: $15.20-$17.40 based on education and experience
