Duties
- Operate the cash register accurately, handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods with efficiency and integrity
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or concerns
- Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging customer engagement and upselling opportunities
- Manage retail sales transactions smoothly, ensuring proper scanning, pricing, and bagging of items
- Maintain the cash drawer’s accuracy through diligent cash handling and balancing at shift end
- Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Assist in inventory management tasks such as stock replenishment and inventory counts to keep the store well-stocked and inviting
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when responding to inquiries or providing information over the phone
- Engage customers in retail math activities like calculating discounts or totals to enhance their shopping experience
- Supervise or assist new team members as needed, sharing product knowledge and best practices for customer interactions
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential
- Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Proficiency in POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations is a plus
- Demonstrated supervisory experience or leadership abilities are advantageous for team support roles
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor and professional phone etiquette
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions, discounts, and inventory counts
- Knowledge of retail store products, merchandising techniques, and grocery operations enhances performance
