Hoist & Crane Service Inspector

Crane Equipment & Service, Inc. (CES) is a multi-branch company with locations in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
We are seeking a skilled Hoist & Crane Service Inspector with a proven track record of providing excellent customer service to join our growing team.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
As the Inspector, you will be responsible for performing monthly inspections of all on-site assets, along with the following:
- Perform OSHA-required monthly and annual crane and hoist inspections at two locations; accurately report findings using CES’s custom software system.
- Perform overhead crane and hoist repairs as needed.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
- Conduct load testing of crane and hoist systems when required.
- Assist engineers in developing project drawings and technical reports.
- Prepare required reports and administrative documentation.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Qualified candidates must be able to pass drug, alcohol, and background screenings and meet the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Ability to work at heights, including from ladders and manlifts.
- Experience with overhead crane and hoist inspections (preferred).
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and remain on your feet throughout the workday.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, diagrams, and manuals.

Schedule:
- Monday–Friday, Second Shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
- Must be available for occasional weekends and overtime
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel to CES facilities in Illinois and/or Iowa for training (approximately 5–10 days per year)
