In this role, you will develop and implement tailored instructional strategies to foster growth in students with developmental disabilities, autism, hearing impairments, visual impairments, and other special needs. Duties
- Design and deliver individualized instruction aligned with students’ IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) and educational goals.
- Implement evidence-based teaching practices such as applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral therapy, and sensory integration techniques to support behavioral health and learning.
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other specialists to develop cohesive lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development, educational technology integration, and instructional modifications.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress in literacy education, math, social skills, communication skills, and functional life skills.
- Facilitate communication with parents and caregivers to update them on student progress, behavior management strategies, and intervention plans.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques tailored for students with disabilities and developmental challenges.
- Utilize learning technology tools and assistive devices to enhance instructional delivery and engagement for students with visual or hearing impairments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in special education, childhood development, or a related field; advanced certifications in special education or related disciplines preferred.
- Proven experience working with children with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, hearing impairments, visual impairments, or other special needs.
- Strong knowledge of special education law, educational compliance standards, IEP development, and instructional modifications.
- Expertise in speech therapy techniques, behavioral therapy (including applied behavior analysis), music therapy, recreational therapy or related interventions is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with educational technology tools used for individualized instruction and assessment.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and parent communication.
- Ability to manage classroom environments effectively while implementing behavior management strategies for students with complex needs.
- Passion for early intervention practices and experience working in preschool or childcare settings is a plus.

Pay: From $52,608.00 per year
