Tasks for this position include supporting the firm's partners in:
- Initiating work on new 9/11 compensation claims.
- Gathering, reviewing, and analyzing information relevant to VCF claims.
- Investigating the facts and circumstances of each client's claim.
- Working directly with clients, family members, witnesses, medical providers, employers, unions, and other third parties.
- Preparing documents and correspondence necessary to enroll clients in the World Trade Center Health Program.
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of claims to the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund.
- Maintaining accurate electronic records and documenting case activity.
- Following internal workflows, deadlines, and case management procedures.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following strengths:
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated empathy when working with clients.
- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and demonstrate strong attention to detail.
- Must have excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese), written and verbal, is required for this role.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff.
- Proficiency with office suites.
Location & Work Environment
- Primarily remote position, with periodic in-office work as needed.
- Candidates must reside in New York or New Jersey.
- Headquarters located in an amenity-rich office in the Financial District, just blocks from the World Trade Center.
