Warehouse Associate Position Description
- Perform core warehouse operations including picking, packing, receiving, and put-away with accuracy and efficiency.
- Meet productivity and quality standards for order fulfillment, ensuring orders are picked, packed, and shipped correctly and on time.
- Receive inbound shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and put away product accurately.
- Utilize and maintain WMS for inventory tracking and daily transactions
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Work closely with warehouse teams to troubleshoot inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Follow and help develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline warehouse
- Implement and uphold Lean 5S methodologies to drive continuous improvement in warehouse operations.
- Utilize Excel and data analysis
- Train and mentor fellow warehouse associates as needed.
II. Supervisory Responsibilities
- None formally; may help guide or train warehouse associates.
- Collaborates with cross-functional warehouse teams (receiving, picking, shipping).
III. Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- College degree preferred (or 7+ years of direct warehouse experience in lieu of degree).
- Forklift certification required.
- Hands-on experience in warehouse operations.
- WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) experience.
- SOP development and process improvement.
Knowledge of
- Lean 5S and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Barcode scanning systems and inventory tracking technologies.
Ability to
- Analyze data (Excel) to identify trends and discrepancies.
- Train teams and communicate technical processes clearly.
- Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely.
Skills
- Problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- Attention to detail and process-driven mindset.
- Interpersonal and leadership skills for team collaboration.
IV. Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
- Certification in Lean/5S or inventory management.
- Warehouse experience in a high-volume warehouse.
- WMS implementation experience.
- Extensiv App knowledge (or any ERP/WMS applications).
V. Work Environment
- Warehouse setting with exposure to temperature variations and physical activity.
- Requires lifting up to 20 lbs and operating forklifts.
- Occasional overtime or weekend work during peak periods.
