Casa Primavera RCFE is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Elderly Caregiver to provide exceptional care and support to seniors in a 5-Bed Residential Care facility for the elderly located in Spring Valley, CA.
Available Schedule:
Saturday 7:00am- 3:00pm
Sunday 7:00am- 3:00pm
Starting pay rate $20.00/Hour
401k available, PTO after 1 year of employment
This vital role involves assisting elderly individuals with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their overall well-being. Must Have:
- Pass Criminal Record Clearance prior to hire
- Experience working with more than 1 resident at a time.
- Experience with Dementia/ Hospice residents.
- Pass a health screening such as Physical Exam, TB test
- Current Basic First Aid, CPR certificate or obtain within the first 30 days of hire.
- Must be able to read, write and speak english to communicate with residents, families, visitors and other staff members.
- Must be able to cook/ prepare meals.
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer’s and dementia care, using specialized techniques
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
- Use equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to safely transfer residents with heavy lifting needs
- Document patient observations accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and care plans
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote social engagement and mental well-being
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR, First Aid, and emergency procedures to ensure resident safety at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home environments
- Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and vital signs assessment
- Familiarity with dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice care, autism spectrum disorders, and developmental disabilities
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using appropriate equipment such as Hoyer lifts
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams
- Experience in medication administration and creating or following care plans
- Compassionate approach with patience for working with seniors experiencing cognitive decline or disabilities
- Ability to work independently while adhering to safety standards like CPR certification and First Aid training
- Knowledge of social work principles related to elder support services is a plus
